The final results released by the Independent National
Electoral Commission for the election supplementary gubernatorial
election in Kogi state indicates that the All Progressives Congress
scored 6,885 while the Peoples Democratic Party scored 5,363 votes
according to the final tally of votes from the supplementary polls.
The replacement candidate for the APC, Yahaya Bello has won the election earlier declared inconclusive by INEC.
Total valid votes for the election is 472, 983, the number of rejected
votes are 21,740 while the total number of votes cast is 494,723.
The APC had to replace it the candidate in the election as its original candidate; Abubakar Audu died suddenly on the day of collation of the initial election. The party decided to present the second runner up in the primary that produced Mr. Audu. Mr. Audu's deputy, James Faleke has gone to court to counter the party's position.
