The Reason Bukola Saraki emerged 8th Senate President

                          Senator Bukola Saraki has emerged as the Senate President and people are wondering why. The National House of Assembly was split into two fractions when Ahmed Lawan was chosen by the APC as it’s sole candidate…Those supporting Saraki and those behind Lawan who were the majority ..

According to Channels TV, 51 APC senators who were behind Lawan were absent .In essence, the PDP senators and the remaining APC senators on Saraki’s side voted unopposed..

It is not clear if the boycott was intentional.The APC legislators were said to have met with president Buhari this morning.It is also not known if Bukola Saraki and his loyalists attended the meeting..
On the other hand,some political observers argue President Buhari may have intervened and cajoled Lawan to step down..
Meanwhile, PDP’s Senator Ike Ekweremadu was elected Deputy Senate President.
