During the Wednesday, June 10th Rain came on Ejigbo area of Lagos, a 12-year-old boy lost his life.
Also, nine buildings, including a police barracks, went up in flames. Although no life was lost in the different fire incidents, several families were rendered homeless. At press time, information on how the 12-year-old boy met his death was still sketchy. But it was gathered that e flood carried him into a canal at Orilowo area of Ejigbo. At 7p.m. on Wednesday, his body was yet to be found.
Spokesperson for the South-West Zone of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Ibrahim Farinloye, confirmed the incident, saying his men would continue to search for the remains of the body on Thursday.
However, officials of Lagos State Fire Service were reportedly sighted at the scene. The state’s Fire Service Director, Rasaq Fadipe, stated that Ikotun Fire station was on ground.
